Embracing Absolutism in Christ: A Journey of Faith

ree

In a world where relativism prevails, and truth is influenced by personal preference and morality shifts with cultural changes, I remain resolute. I am an absolutist — not out of stubbornness, but out of reverence for the One who declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)

Truth Is Not Merely a Concept — It Is a Person

Jesus Christ did not come to offer one truth among many; He came as the Truth. His words are not mere suggestions or interpretations; they are eternal truths. As a believer, I do not adapt Scripture to suit my life — I adapt my life to align with Scripture. This is the essence of absolutism: submitting to the authority of God’s Word without compromise.

The World Says “Maybe” — Christ Affirms “I Am”

Contemporary culture embraces uncertainty, encouraging us to “live your truth,” as if truth were a customizable option. However, Jesus did not permit ambiguity. He spoke with divine clarity, healed with authority, forgave with finality, and His death and resurrection dispelled every “maybe.”

Absolutism Is Not Harsh — It Is Holy

Some may associate “absolutist” with being judgmental, rigid, or intolerant. However, true absolutism in Christ is rooted in love. It is the love that warns a friend nearing a cliff, the love that refuses to dilute the Gospel for comfort’s sake, and the love that asserts, “I care too much to let you settle for less than God’s best.”

Living Boldly in a Lukewarm Age

Being an absolutist means remaining steadfast when the world derides faith. I do not dilute the Gospel to gain approval, nor do I apologize for believing that Jesus is the sole path to salvation. I live boldly, not because I am flawless, but because I am anchored in the One who is.
