SAFEGUARDING

Statement on the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults: This policy is grounded in the teachings of John 13:34, which states, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Agape Simple Church House Fellowship is committed to the protection and well-being of children and adults who require care and support.

ADULT

We recognize our shared responsibility to prevent physical, sexual, psychological, financial, and discriminatory abuse and neglect of adults at risk. We are committed to engaging with the adult involved and reporting any abuse we discover or suspect. We uphold the dignity and rights of adults and strive, with God's guidance and His Word, to support them. We believe all adults should have access to all aspects of Agape Simple Church House Fellowship.

CHILD

We are dedicated to exercising due diligence in selecting individuals who will work with children with care and support needs, whether at the main service venue or elsewhere. We believe every child should be valued, safe, and happy, and we aim to empower children to inform us if they face significant harm.

GENERAL

Individuals under investigation or suspected of abuse or breach of trust concerning a child or adult will not participate in any activities with us, internally or externally, until these investigations are concluded.

We are committed to: - Adhering to statutory guidelines regarding the safeguarding of children and adults, ensuring that all volunteers at Agape Simple Church House Fellowship comply with our agreed-upon safeguarding policy.

Supporting everyone in Agape Simple Church House Fellowship affected by abuse.

We recognize: - Children's Social Services holds the primary responsibility for investigating allegations or suspicions of abuse involving children. - Adult Social Care holds the primary responsibility for investigating allegations or suspicions of abuse involving adults with care and support needs.

Safeguarding is a collective responsibility, supported by biblical teachings. Philippians 2:3-4 states, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

We are committed to reviewing this statement annually.

If you have any concerns for a child or adult in our fellowship, then speak to our safeguarding officer Duncan Stewart
